Join us for training, a social run or a strength and conditioning session!
Tuesday Evenings
Club members are now able to join Tuesday night training by booking a place in one of two groups through Eventbrite here.
Depending on which group you sign up for, meet at either Whin Park or the Archive Centre car park. We will have a quick Covid safety talk and leave at 6:05 sharp. The training format is decided in advance and typically involves a 3-4km warm-up followed by off-road hill reps and speed work with the occasional road session. Typical training locations include the quarry, canal and the Mast (Craig Dunain).
Please make sure to:
Review the risk assessment (Word document below)
Arrive in training kit
Sanitise and/or wash hands prior to session
Please review the following guidelines before coming along:
The "field of play" rules apply from the start of the warm-up to the end of the session.
Risk assessment of our training area in place to ensure that numbers attending are appropriate for maintaining physical distancing and safety measures have been considered.
Respect physical distancing for any members of the public we meet whilst training
Normal physical distancing guidelines apply before and after the sessions (see Scottish Government guidelines).
There will be a Covid Co-ordinator at each session.
Every third Thursday of the month we hold "Thirdsday," a self-timed, off-road 5.4k, 175m race at Inshes Park. You may complete the race at whatever time of day suits you on Thursday. If you're on Strava, it will pick up your run in the segment. If not, post your time on the HHR Facebook page or tell Dougie Macdonald.
Fridays at 7pm we meet at the Inverness Royal Academy Sport Centre for strength and conditioning circuits. The cost is £5 per week for 4 weeks with the 5th week free.
There is no sign in at reception, just tell them you're in Highland Hill Runners. We meet in the Dance Studio on the first floor.
Please remember a yoga/gym mat and cash.
Social Running
We also organise social runs around the Highlands, winter and summer solstice runs, and full moon runs with the occasional coffee and cafe stop.
