The Northern Highlights Series was originally conceived by Steven Burnside and Russell McKecknie in 2024 to raise the profile of "little known (but really good)" hill races in the North of Scotland.
Since then, the administration of the series has been taken on by Highland Hill Runners.
In 2026, the third edition of the series will consist of all hill races organised by HHR.
It is open to runners from any club and is distinct from the club championships, comprising of different races. We hope to include more races organised by other clubs in future years.

The Rules
Results will be calculated in Female and Open categories and then where possible in Age categories. As results are collated from a number of different sources errors can occur, if this is the case and you spot an issue then please use the Contact Us section and we will rectify, the aim will always to be to update results within a week of the race but again this may not always be possible so we ask for patience sometimes. Results will be provisional for one week following the final race of the series, after this any mistakes will not be rectified.
