    John Mackenzie

Its with great sadness that I must report that John Mackenzie passed away peacefully on the 5th December. John was a special Highland gentleman and will be sadly missed by all of us. Keep on running over these hills. HHR

It’s with such sadness that we are writing to tell you that John died peacefully at home yesterday lunchtime, December 5th. We were all beside him, and he was comfortable for these last stages of his illness. Despite increasing debilitation, even in his final days John retained his amazingly positive attitude, gentlemanly manners, gracious charm, sense of humour and keen interest in the lives of friends and relatives.

We’d also like to thank you for all your messages of support over the last couple of months. They provided John and us with much comfort. We read or described all the cards, emails, texts, phonecalls etc. to John, including those that arrived yesterday morning. And special thanks to those who gave us so much practical support, in so many ways, over the last few weeks. We could not have managed without you.

You are warmly invited to a celebration of John’s life at 2pm on Monday December 15th, in the Peregrine Suite at the Macdonald Aviemore Resort. This is a change of date and venue since our last email, so many apologies to anyone who will have to revise travel arrangements. A small, private family burial will have taken place in the morning.

Not too many black clothes please – John wanted this to be a positive and uplifting celebratory event. If you’d like to make a donation you can do so either online athttp://www.thebraintumourcharity.org/home , or at the celebration, but no flowers please.

There should be plenty of space, so do forward this invitation to others who might appreciate the opportunity to celebrate John’s life.
